A VISION OF BRITAIN - HEALTH AND SAFETY
Health and Safety
Before embarking on any exercise or outdoor activities it is important that you consider your safety and well being no matter how trivial this may seem.
Walking and outdoor pursuits:
Ensure that you have proper clothing and footwear. Waterproof clothing and good walking boots or shoes and a rucksack with a mobile phone, maps, food and drink are essential. It is easy to get lost or take longer than you planned on a trip and find yourself thirsty and hungry. Keep wrapped up warm in the winter and do tell someone where you are going in the event of an accident or fall. Better still try and take a friend with you.
Indoor exercises:
Make sure that you "warm up" correctly, do as much as you can manage and then slow your pace to "cool down" properly.Wear suitable loose fitting clothing and give yourself space to exercise. If you feel at all unwell be sure to stop and rest or call someone to help.
